“We exist to glorify God by treasuring Christ, loving people and making disciples.”
This is more than just a mission statement. This is our desire as a church and it is an expression of what we believe it looks like to be faithful to the Gospel as a community of believers following Christ together.
We want to be living that out as a church. We want to be a community of believers that reflects the love of God in Christ Jesus. We want to be growing in our love for each other and our love for the people of Lehigh. We don’t believe that can happen apart from a work of God in our own hearts as we look to and treasure Christ.
We believe that treasuring Christ is where our mission begins; but it doesn’t end there. Truly treasuring Christ calls us into community with a love for people and out to the community for making disciples!
Christ has called us out from the world and brought us into community with each other that we might live for Him and that His love might be seen in us.
Christ now calls us to take that message of reconciliation into our community, that we might call others to turn from sin and death to the living God, be reconciled to him in Christ, and be brought into the community of believers.
In our particular context, we believe being involved and invested in our neighborhoods is crucial to reaching Lehigh with the Gospel. So, as an ongoing effort to live as a community that treasures Christ, loves people and makes disciples, we will begin hosting an ongoing conversation where we will be planning, equipping, and encouraging one another to intentionally live this out in our neighborhoods.
This is a unique season in the life of the church and there is much reason to be encouraged as we begin this new work of reaching Lehigh with the Gospel. If you would like to join in on the conversation, stay tuned for announcements on dates and locations.
May His love control us; may we grow in community as we exalt Christ together; and may we take this message of reconciliation to the streets and neighborhoods of Lehigh, by His grace and for his glory!
